Citrus geology class spends a weekend in Nevada

A group of Citrus College students and their professor got the opportunity to spend a weekend exploring the wonders of Nevada.

Earth science professor Mercedes Belica took her field geology students on a trip to the Valley of Fire and Lake Mead on Oct. 27. They spent a few days exploring the geography and wildlife of the desert.

Club president finds solace in STEM

Lucy Zurita is fascinated with anything that gives her a chance to build. From a young age, she has always enjoyed getting to tinker with objects.

She is currently president of Citrus’ Innovate X club, a robotics club, and is an engineering major. However, her path to STEM hasn’t always been easy.

Board of Trustees member Mary Ann Lutz is joining the race for U.S. Congress

Citrus College Board of Trustees member Mary Ann Lutz is running for U.S. Congress this year.

She is running to serve District 31, which is San Gabriel Valley. She is no stranger to public service, as she has served as the mayor of Monrovia in 2009 and was re-elected twice. She has also served as the liaison/policy adviser to Democratic Congresswoman Grace F. Napolitano.
